Top Ten Things To Do In Charlotte- An Addition
For those of you who followed my Top Ten Must See’s in Charlotte, you know we had a problem… we didn’t quite get to 10. Not because there aren’t Ten, but because there is wide disagreement once you get past the top 5. So, I’ll be publishing more particular Top Ten Lists, or Top 5 lists, things to do with young children, things to do with teenagers, best 5 day trips, you get the picture.
The summer concert series by the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra- the traveling band known as the Pops, will make anyone’s top 10 list. When the weather is nice, take in a concert on Southpark’s north lawn where the Pops perform their summer schedule with Saturday Night concerts in the park. Patriotic music filled the air July 3rd, popular show tunes a few weeks ago, each performance has its own genre. Bring something to sit on, I like low chairs, but beach blankets or tarps and sitting on the ground works too, something to drink, chilled wine is good and cold beer works well too, and something to eat if you are hungry. The warmup starts just after 7, so be there by 6:30 for better seats.
So, the year ending concert the 3rd of July drew the largest crowd- a great night completed by fireworks from a nearby parking lot. There were one or two rain-outs, still we made it to two. It is a great way to get out doors, enjoy the cooler evenings with friends and an inexpensive night out- a $5 per person contribution is suggested. Good fun,
