What about home prices?
They are reasonably stable and Charlotte home Sellers are not giving up the farm. In negotiations this month, 3 Florida home buyers found out- two the hard way. In all cases we bid low. One lost a good home outright in competitive situation, one is coming back again, and the third got a great home at a good price- not the 75-80% of list they go for in Florida.

I’m Terry McDonald, real estate broker, Group leader and blogger, owner and president of the McDonald Team... I do the calculations and write about Charlotte regularly. We try and keep up on our numbers here in Charlotte and across the country. Our business is real estate, our specialty is relocating families. Charlotte is a popular “move to” city, and we enjoy helping people find their way here. My group is made up of “imports”, and here is my relocation story.
My Family’s Charlotte Relocation Story
I came to Charlotte 18 years ago from Hoboken, New Jersey just outside New York City. I spent 3 years in Hoboken, commuting to NYC as a graduate student at Columbia. I grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC… I moved with my wife, 4 children and a dog to Charlotte to raise our family in the summer of 1993. Charlotte has been good to us. Our children attended both public and private schools in Charlotte. All are, or soon will be college graduates and our grads are employed! Yea.
Married more than 30 year to a teacher and now Professor of Education, I’ve been involved in education discussions for years, and will point you to the excellent resources you need to make the best choice for your children, public, charter, magnet or private. I understand the questions and concerns. The good news is that there are many good answers here, and good resources, but it will be up to you to find the best ones for your children.
